Our Daughter Patricia Ann Ravo

In our previous letters, we shared the special story about our daughter Patricia who passed away in December 2004 as a young adult after a battle with breast cancer.  Although Patricia was born hearing impaired (deaf) but through her determination and our encouragement, she succeeded in a hearing person’s world by accomplishing many remarkable career feats.

One of Patricia’s fondest memories was when in 2002, while her cancer was stable,  she visited an exhibit in Delray Beach that was organized and developed by the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History  entitled: Hats, Handbags & Gloves: from past to present.  Patricia never forgot that wonderful experience that our family had during our first visit to an MLFH exhibit.  She found solace and inspiration in the cultural exhibits and programs of the MLFH.  Patricia spoke fondly about the Museum and would say “…lets support that museum so that it can have a permanent home.”

A permanent home for the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History was one of our beloved daughter’s final wishes. Even though Patricia has passed away, her dream of helping to support the Museum’s efforts for a permanent building is still being realized.

In year 2005, the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History was granted a bequest from our daughter’s estate that is recognized as The Patricia Ann Ravo Fund.

During the past decade of MLFH, unique programs have been offered that the Patricia Ann Ravo Fund has been supporting such as the Children’s Mathematics Narrated Bus Tours of Historic Delray Beach which is a program that MLFH developed in partnership with the School District of Palm Beach County.  Our daughter’s bequest also funds the MLFH annual Children & Parents Day event.

Patricia still needs you, we need you and MLFH needs you.  With just an $11 donation (or donate any amount) for the Museum's 11th anniversary you can help make a difference.

Your financial support to MLFH will allow it to continue to grow, operate in its current location inside the Boynton Beach Mall and most importantly, to reach our goal of building a permanent museum facility.  A permanent facility will allow this Museum to expand its hugely popular historic bus tour program as well as host international exhibitions. We still need your help to make it happen.

Please show your support today.  The Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization as designated by the IRS so donations are tax-deductible.  To learn more about donating and giving opportunities to the Museum, visit the website at MLFHMUSEUM.org or call 561-243-2662.

Donations can be made payable to the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History and mailed to P.O. Box 6127; Delray Beach, FL  33482.

Thank you so very much for your time and for your consideration of making a statement of support for the Museum of Lifestyle and Fashion History with your financial commitment to the Museum and our fundraising campaign.
